
Digital Publishers Federation of Japan
The Digital Publishers Federation of Japan (DPFJ) aims to promote the digitalization of publishing culture, an important part of Japan’s cultural heritage; preserve and sustain the diversity of publishing culture; foster the sound development of digital publishing businesses by publishers; and, together with copyright holders, promote the growth and adoption of digital publishing not only in Japan but throughout the world.
To achieve these objectives, DPFJ undertakes the following activities:
- 1. Promoting the adoption and improving the quality of digital publishing.
- 2. Conducting research and studies on production, distribution, services, and other matters related to the digital publishing business.
- 3. Collecting and providing information related to the digital publishing business. 4. Promoting the development of the legal and regulatory environment for digital publishing and making relevant policy recommendations.
- 5. Facilitating exchange and cooperation with relevant organizations and institutions in Japan and overseas in relation to digital publishing.
- 6. Supporting international exchange and the global adoption of digital publishing.
- 7. Preserving and archiving digital data related to the digital publishing business.
